A barely audible engine humming in the back of my brain scans these days to understand the impetus of the anti-Hillary vitriol.  Envy camouflaged by shame seems to be a critical ingredient. Brené Brown’s observation, below, seems to be elucidating.

“Show me a woman who can sit with a man in [his] real vulnerability, in [his] deep fear, and be with him. I will show you a woman who does not derive her power from that man. And show me a man who can sit with a woman in deep struggle and vulnerability and not try to fix it, but just hear her and be with her. I’ll show you a man who doesn’t derive his power from controlling and fixing everything.”

Brené Brown, PhD

Most of our dissatisfactions in others reflect limitations in ourselves.

Not always.

But often.

Let’s be curious.
